Venado Caves Tour
The Venado Caves are a system of underground caves that formed approximately 15 to 20 million years ago, originally underwater. The caves are composed of limestone and were formed by tectonic activity and water flow over millions of years. Inside, you can see stalactites and stalagmites, as well as fossils of marine life.
The tour involves a walk through an underground river and various chambers and grottos. Be prepared to get wet and dirty, as you will sometimes have to walk, crawl, or climb inside.
The caves are home to a unique ecosystem, including a colony of bats, spiders, and crickets, as well as limestone formations and underground waterfalls.
